Well Tim has managed to put all of the old blog into a word document which is great. Pity about the photo album, but I guess having a blog that needs photos in the posts to make it look pretty instead of just referring to the album will encourage me to take more photos, not that I don’t I just tend to procrastinate in getting them off the camera.

We have been lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather. Which means plenty of outside play. The kids have been enjoying home made ice-blocks on a daily basis care of “tuppercare icey tups” and (if I knew how to do the cool little linky thing I would do it now) it becomes a slight issue when they start to melt. So I have been trying to explain the melting process to a 3yr old. Yesterday I gave Lily an ice tray to fill with treasures – Lily see’s treasure when other people see stuff, anything and everything is a treasure to dear Lil so it was a risky experiment. She did it really well, and to my suprise she filled them very symetrically, so down the tray there were two stones, two flower buds and two rocks etc you get the idea. Then we covered them with water and froze them. Today we got them out and took them outside in a sunny spot and let them melt. Was great. There were manderin segments in some which she took delight in eating. She had a great time watching them melt and I think it helped her get the idea. She is hugely excited about Christmas and Santa Claus and is wishing for a fishing rod – you can guess where the influence has come from for that one!!

Jack has a new sense of independence. Him and his trusty wooden trolley (which I must take a photo of him using) are a force to be reckoned with. I took him down the drive today when he woke up from his sleep. I was planning on carrying the trolley down the drive for him, because it is very stoney but he did it all by himself and then walked right around the cul-de-sac BUT at every gate way he wanted to go in!! And then packed a major when I wouldn’t let him, it really hit a peak when he saw the red tractor parked on someones lawn a few houses down. He LOVED it. I must go and ask them one day if he can have a closer look, it seems like it is a permanent fixture and little Jack has a brilliant memory. He has had a blood test and the results were all fine so now it is a just a wait and encourage game really. He is doing really well and taking way more independent steps than ever before. And is generally more interested in walking, so here is hoping Mummy might get a nice suprise for Christmas.

Cute don’t you think!! He is such a boy. He has been dragged around with me and Lil doing the girl thing for the last 20 odd months and now he is starting to rebel! He hangs in the carpentary area at Playcentre and at the top of the fort (often goes up there for number 2’s, weird?) and ofcourse the beloved sandpit!
KIDSPEAK!!
The latest funny from Lily happened the other day. I had bought her this gorgeous purple dress and showed it to her….”Wow, did they run out of pink” was what I got from my nearly 3.5yr old. Very cute and she is oh so pink but still likes to get fairly grubby. Whenever we go to the park she lays down in the bark and makes a “bark angel” as you would in the snow…reminder to take a photo of one of those!!!
Other stuff
so my garden is finally full, I am killing some lawn to plant a late crop of spuds. Isn’t as drastic as it sounds, and is an area that we don’t use because it isn’t fenced. The chickens who are really old and were when we got them have got to be dealt with, we aren’t getting that many eggs…like one every two days and that’s from two chickens so they need to go. I sound like a hard a%^e but I won’t be home when it happens, that is what husbands are for and mine is enough of a mad killer that it won’t be an issue. Then we will get some nice young ones that can lay every day, might even get three, we have enough room for them. Don’t think we will name the next lot, apparently that is what makes it hard when it comes time to do the nasty. We are going to add some more creatures to our wee farm in the city…tadpoles! Should be fun.
Must go, this is turning into an essay, but thought I better have something on here to read once I flag the old blog!! Goodnight
xx
